Cyberbullying
One of the things I strongly do not like is bullying,
especially Cyberbullying. This allows for the person to sit behind a computer
and torment others, which is horrendous. The bully gets the chance to be
anonymous and they do not have to look at who they are bullying, and they won’t have to see how it affects them when it is
happening. They can post pictures, mean and hateful comments, and much more
about the person. I always have the same questions when I see bullying stories.
One of the things I always ask is why are they doing it? What do they get out
of it? Do they think it makes them superior to that other person? Cyberbullying
definitely hurts those being bullied. It is not like the person being bullied
can just look away from what is being posted about them. It can hurt them
emotionally, mentally, and even physically. People have taken their own lives
because of cyberbullies. This makes me so angry because if that becomes the
result, how would the bully feel? Would they feel remorse and regret their
prior actions? Would they continue to hurt others? Do they ever think about
what if it was them in that position and how they would like it? I think
bullies need to ask themselves these questions before they proceed to hurt
others. I hope that when others see people being harassed whether it is online
or in person, that they step up and help the person being bullied instead of
being a bystander or joining in on the torment. If you know of someone or see
someone getting bullied, report it before it gets out hand. Hopefully at some point we
will be able to stop Cyberbullying or any bullying for that matter, but for now
we just have to continue doing what we can to help those being bullied.
